Golf Distance
How can I get more distance on my golf drive?
I hit quite right, but for a guy my height and 5'11 in 230'lb muscle and I can only 200yards. What should I do to like 250 or 300? I only played one year and I'm in my forties.
Firstly, I'm 16 years old, about 150 pounds, 5'11, good construction, and hit somewhere near 300. (sometimes 290 or 310, I am struck by how pure / hard it is to ride in the streets) Honestly, I do not think height and weight plays an important role in the distance. Secondly, let me say that swinging will not give you more distance. If you do this, not only more difficult for the club to square at impact, also begin to gradually lose distance. And I think I prefer the streets of 14/14 which was shot more than 320. The reason it goes too far affect more than help, is that when the swing gets too long, did not reach the ball at the peak acceleration and velocity. It is why we listen to people like Anthony Kim (who is one of the top 11 drivers of the longest in PGA Tour) say a small oscillation parallel crucial for their swing. Thirdly, to get away, we must reduce the amount of excess movement in his swing. You may also want to improve the rotation angles of his rise and fall. (Not too flat or inclined). And not to mention the proper arm position. Usually, you have your swing to be more correct fundementally. And yet in the world "Hips fast" by trend. It did not help, all he did was send the ball anywhere, and clouds. So I had to reduce my speed to the hip. The best way to get your swing right, will take a lesson his local golf club. They do not have to be one of the best in the nation, because we are all going through a class to become a PGA professional (not the PGA professional player himself, the PGA professional is someone who can teach / lecture people). You really have to tell them that you want gain more distance, or because it will once you remove the excess movement in his swing. Good luck
